Why Lifting Up Matters: Every Founder Starts Somewhere

Hello friends,

Feels like it’s been a minute—well, it kind of has. We've been busy cooking in the lab, and a lot has been happening behind the scenes. Will be sending out a full newsletter later this week with all the latest updates with the builders in the lab. Today, we’re excited to share something meaningful we’re bringing back for the community—something we believe is important and long overdue.

First, a quick update: We’ve officially selected two new founders for our Startup School: Summer Session. These are incredibly talented builders working on some exciting projects, and we’re proud of their early progress. We’ll introduce them later this month—PlebLab style.

Building a Bitcoin-only startup curriculum has turned out to be more challenging than we expected, but we’ve done our best to break it into four keystones we believe are essential to early-stage Bitcoin startups: Foundation, Product, Revenue, and Pitch. This is our first version—we’ll continue to refine it over time. But we’re confident that with the experience we've gained through our in-house accelerator, the builders in our lab, and the Top Builder program, we’re heading in a direction of forward progress. I’ll be sharing more about this at BitcoinDay Tampa Bay on June 14, 2025.

Next, I wanted to follow up on something I recently shared on Stacker News—you can check it out here.

At PlebLab, we’ve always believed in building people just as much as building software.

In a world that often criticizes, competes, or gatekeeps—we’ve chosen a different path. We meet people where they are. And then—we build them up.

PlebLab exists to serve the builders at the edges: Those just getting started. Those trying something new. Those doing it differently.

We create space for experimentation, failure, and growth. That’s why we open our doors to first-time founders.

When someone shows up with a half-baked idea, we don’t roll our eyes—we roll up our sleeves.

When a builder asks for help, we don’t question their worth—we give our time.

That’s what lifting up looks like. It takes time, commitment, and a reason to believe in the person in front of you.

It’s a responsibility that goes beyond compensation. It’s about the moral good—for our community, and for the decentralized economy Bitcoin is building.

This is how we create real impact. This is how we push forward toward hyperbitcoinization.

Which brings us to something we’re really excited to announce:

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Capital Factory to launch a new monthly event—Bitcoin Builders Club.

Since early 2024, we’ve been exploring how to create a recurring event that fits their vibrant community of entrepreneurs, developers, and designers—people who gather day and night, online and IRL, for meetups, classes, and co-working. Capital Factory has a strong network of investors, talent, and innovators. In fact, according to Pitchbook, they’ve been the most active investor in Texas since 2010. This makes them the perfect partner for our mission: meeting builders where they are.

As I shared in our last Learnings post, “Divinity at Scale: And The Last Real Hurdle,” Bitcoin payments have, over the past five years, become a foundational tool in every builder’s toolkit. It’s no longer the main obstacle. The real challenge now is something far tougher: defining a clear path to sustainable revenue—and executing on it.

Why a Builders Club?

Because every great Bitcoin product starts as someone’s weird obsession.
And every successful idea? It started as a GitHub repo no one noticed… until they did. Every strong founder was once uncertain—until they found their tribe.

Bitcoin Builders Club is a monthly hangout in Austin, TX, where devs, hackers, and founders come together to share ideas, demo projects, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Whether you’re hacking on Lightning, developing open-source tools, or launching a new startup—this is your space to build in public, connect with peers, and get real-time feedback from a community that gets it. The Genesis Event is happening on Monday, June 16, 2025, starting at 6:30pm. Make sure to RSVP. Vibes will be high.

Each month, expect Austin-style hospitality: homestyle food from a local chef, cold drinks, and vibrant conversations with people who are just as passionate as you are about building Bitcoin’s future.

Because we don’t just build code—we build up people.
